She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay Robinson Shive, Sr. and Maude Bost Shive; her uncle Carl; and her aunt Mary Allman. She is survived by: her husband James McCombs; her children, Betsy Bracken, Lori Wade (Bobby), Amy Dixon and Aaron McCombs (Sheri); her grandchildren, Katy, Zachary Bracken, Emma, Morgan Wade, Faith Dixon, Brandon (Crystal) and Hunter Crews (Macey); and her brother Jay Shive (Debbie). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (134 S Peace Haven Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104). Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to support the Alzheimer's Association so that research can continue until a cure is found or to Calvary Baptist Church in Winston Salem as they have been a great support to Jan over the years.
