It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Sturdivant Sr. (Winston Salem, North Carolina), born in Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Odessa Wray; his wife JoAnn P. Sturdivant; his sons, James Owens, Brian Owens, Marcus Hampton, Cory Sturdivant, Daron James, Tony Muhammad and Eric James; and his siblings, Larry Wray, Michael Wray, Reginald Sturdivant, Gloria Wray and Vanessa Sturdivant. He was also cherished by 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (5061 Lansing Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27105). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
