With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James McDowell of Winston Salem, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 28, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Dewitt McDowell and Gertrude Rierson. He is survived by: his wife Aloma; his children, Tim Skeen (Angie), Wendy McDowell Redner (Barry) and Sandra Synder (Michael); his grandchildren, Spencer Keaton (Taylor), Lydia Hedrick (Anj), Lindsay Johnson, David Smith and Ray Smith (Emily); and his brother Jerry McDowell. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
