He is survived by: his wife Laura Thomson Hemphill; his children, John Randolph Hemphill (Melinda) of Wake Forest, Lee Bennett Hemphill (Maegan) of Lewisville and Laura Hemphill Nazario (Richard) of Pinehurst; his grandchildren, Hayes Randolph Hemphill, Emily Bennett Hemphill, Grace Carraway Hemphill, Archer Tillman Hemphill, Crawford Harrison Hemphill, Mary Salem Hemphill, Charlotte Hall Nazario and Catherine Rose Nazario; and his children, Pediatric OncologyPediatric Oncology Clinic, Attn and Tom McLean.
