He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeWalden Eller Sr. and Gertrude Seely Eller; his brother John DeWalden Eller Jr.; his sister-in-law Aurelia Eller; and his sister Alice Eller.
He is survived by: his wife Doris McMillan Eller; his daughter Elaine Eller Stephenson (William Cowell Stephenson IV) of Roanoke, Virginia; his grandchildren, Seely Stephenson Nicholson (Bowman James Nicholson) of Raleigh and William Cowell Stephenson V (Ann Woo Stephenson) of Roanoke, Virginia.; and his great grandchildren, Grove McMillan Nicholson, Eller Lee Stephenson and William Snow Nicholson.
