He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Belle Hunter Ballew and William Jay Ballew; his wife Jessie Ward Ballew; his son Phil Ballew; his siblings, Serafin of Indiana, William, John, Robert and Hunter Ballew; and his nephews, Robert Ballew Jr. and Daniel Mace.
He is survived by: his daughter Laura; and his son-in-law Walter Strupe.
