He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Garner (Thomas Shelton), Cheryl Garner and James A. Garner, Jr.; his grandchildren, Courtney Favors, Naomi Willis and James Garner, III; his great grandchildren, Kainen Favors and Marcellus Willis; his sister Sandra Thomas; and his sisters-in-law, Betty L. Hargrave and Barbara L. Humphrey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, several extended family members and friends.
