She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Evans and Broadus Evans; her husbands, Edward M. Taylor and Willie B. Dennis; and her siblings, Anna Hayes (Bill), James, Wardell Evans (Ruby), Willie Mae Finley (Perry), Manuel Evans (Montea), Alvin Evans (Lucille) and Broadus Jr. Evans (Alyce).
She is survived by: her children, Alfred Stanley Taylor (Hildruth), Denise Taylor, Jacquelyn Yolonda Taylor, Louise Emeka and Deborah Pryor; her grandchildren, Sandee Sealy, Williams III, Tai-Del E. Taylor and Ymani Hampton; and her great grandchildren, Allisan, Alysa, D'Allan, Alston, William, Alani, Robert and Jackson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Calvary Baptist Church (401 NE Woodland Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Throughout her life, Gussie's contributions to her community were numerous.
