He was predeceased by: his father Walter Burns; his grandparents, Joseph, Carolina Watkins, Willie and Julia Burns; and his sister Rogina Burns.
He is survived by: his mother Margaret Burns of Winston-Salem, NC; his children, Katrice Jackson of Gaithersburg, MD and Joshua Martin; his sister Katrina Burns Wheeler of Charlotte, NC; his nieces, Ashley Wheeler Saunders (Shawn) of Charlotte, NC and Kayla Burns of Winston; his friend Tangala Jackson; and his aunts and uncles, Cassandra Burns, Priscilla Burns, Linda Chambers, Julia Martin, Carl Burns, Myron Burns, Thomas Burns and Timothy Burns. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
