He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vernon and Nealie Ingram Vernon; his wife Oralee; and his son Elmo Franklin "Frankie" Vernon. He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Cooke (Steve), Donna Carrigan (Michael) and Susan Greene (Tucker); his grandchildren, Michael Cooke, Stephen Donathan, Gabriella, Sasha and Alexi Greene; and his siblings-in-law, Marvin Casstevens and Donna C. Priddy.
