He is survived by: his daughter Heather Lakey of Lewisville, NC; his brothers, Fred Lakey (Frankie) of Winston-Salem, NC and Harold Lakey of Richmond; his grandchildren, Nathan Hinshaw (Megan Hinshaw) of Winston-Salem, NC, Keelin McArthur of Wilmington, NC, Broze Lakey of Boonville, NC and Adan Lakey of Boonville, NC; and his friend Sarah Shipe of Boonville, NC. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to honor Ed Lakey's life to Trellis Support and Care or to the Alzheimer's Association to help with research to battle this disease.
