It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David W. Cheek Sr. of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Felts Cheek and Nina Mae Hodges Cheek; his son David Cheek, Jr.; and his brother Robert Cheek. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Cheek; his daughters, Sandra Burton (Richard) and Janice Olmedo (Tony); his grandchildren, Chance Burton (Fancy-Mae), Dillion Burton, Clifton Olmedo, David Olmedo, Lilyanna Olmedo and Maddox Olmedo; and his great grandchildren, Elijah and Karma-Mae. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
