He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Townsend Cotterill and Henry John Cotterill. He is survived by: his wife Joan Royer Cotterill; his children, Jon D. Cotterill (Analisa) of Greensboro, NC and Susan Cotterill Clissold (Cory) of Southern Shores, NC; his grandchildren, George Clissold (Hailey), Alexandra Cotterill, Caroline Clissold, Jonathan Cotterill, David Cotterill II and Caroline O'Toole; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Royer Hike.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Home Moravian Church (529 S Church St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101).
