He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Hutchins Gray and James Sheridan Gray. He is survived by: his brother James S. Gray (Frances) of Elkin; his nieces, Anne, Douglass (Scott) of Summerfield and Katy Shook (Ryan) of Edenton; and his friend Mike Nail of Winston Salem.
