He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Joyce and Walter Raleigh Sams; and his siblings, Ruby Gentle, JW, Billy and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Daphine Dovie Beaver; his brother Bob; and his children, Curtis Tory (Cheryl), Tara Cleveland (Eddie), David Jr. (Cindy), Aaron (Nancy) and Kellee Horne (Andy). He is also survived by grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mausoleum Chapel (6135 Ridgecrest Point, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
