He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Brinegar and Eula Walker Brinegar; his former wife Katie Collins Brinegar; and his sisters, Eva Brinegar Dameron, Mabel Brinegar Fowler and Rita Brinegar Mounce.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen McKinney Brinegar; his sons, Dr. Richard Brinegar (Ava) of Elkin and Stephen Brinegar (Farrah) of Clemmons; his stepdaughters, Debra Wilberger of Va, Donna Hall of Ga and Teresa Edwards of Fla; his brothers, Walter Brinegar (Jeanette) of Granite Quarry and Ted Brinegar (Eloise) of Lewisville; his brother-in-law Beauford Fowler of Winston-Salem; and his grandsons, Joshua Brinegar, Daniel Brinegar, Paul Brinegar and Nathan Brinegar.
