It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlie Akers Jr. of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie G. Akers, Sr. and Effie Vass Akers; and his siblings, Paul Bryan Akers, Pauline Akers Porch, Marie Akers Mitchell and Ann Akers Hanks.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Worrell Akers; his children, Wiley Mac Akers of Rural Hall and Lynn Akers Hawks of Pfafftown; his sister Margie Dean Mitchell of Bel Air; his grandchildren, Heather Leedy Donavant (Randy) of Rural Hall, Justin Spencer Akers of Reidsville, NC and Chelsea Ann Akers of Stoneville; and his great grandchildren, Randall Chase Donavant and Tyler James Donavant. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mask and Social Distancing will be required at the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers the Akers family respectfully requests that donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care or the charity of their choice.
