He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Smith and Hazel Swaim Smith; his wife Mary Jordan Smith; and his grandson J. J.. He is survived by: his children, Janet Lee Powers of Fayetteville, Geneva Cavin (Joey) of Linwood, Eddie Smith (Tammy) of Winston-Salem and Betty Ann Smith (Jeffrey Widener) of High Point. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
