Cathleen Smith Hartness Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cathleen Smith Hartness of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on May 2, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jim Smith and Helen Smith (Banks); her husband Bob Hartness; her daughter Sally Hartness Fochtmann; her son-in-law Curt; her grandsons, Gus of Charlotte, NC. and Banks Fochtmann of Charlotte, NC.; and her siblings, Jeff Smith (Jan) of Bakersfield, CA, Joe Smith (Kelly) of Blaine, WA and Sara Ablin (Robin) of Bakersfield, CA. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or the University of California Education Abroad Program.
