He was predeceased by: his father Charles A. Bovender, Sr.; his brothers, C. A. Bovender, Jr. (Lois) and Chester Bovender; his former wives, Alice and Frances; his sister Opal Shouse (Mims); his brother-in-law Glenn Spaugh; and his stepmother Louise Bovender.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra West Bovender; his son Scott Bovender (Mary Jo Bauer); his siblings, Irene Cheek (Bobby), Carol Spaugh and Leroy Bovender (Shirley); and his siblings-in-law, Opal Bovender and David West (Melanie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, or a charity of the donor's choice.
