We are sad to announce that on October 26, 2023, at the age of 83, Burnes Garnett Yates of Winston Salem, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnes Garnett Yates, Sr. and Thelma Hurt Yates; and his wife Shelva Walker Yates. He is survived by: his sons, Mitchell "Mitch" Yates and Michael "Mike" Yates (Chrystal); his brother Robert "Bob" Yates (Cathy); his grandchildren, Zane Yates (Taylor) and Walker Yates; and his great grandchildren, Olive Yates and Navie Yates.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
