She was predeceased by: her parents, Duval Reid and Queen Reid; her husband Willie "Fat Baby" Brown; her brothers, Clayton, Nalenzer and Rufus Reid; her stepdaughter Leona Cook; her grandson Alexander (Reid); and her siblings-in-law, James Richardson and Pamela Reid.
She is survived by: her children, Alexander Reid (Anita), Christopher Reid, Anthony Reid, Queen Nelson (Larry), Katherine Weber (Richard), Angela Searcy (Gustavas), Daniel Eugene Brown, Johnny Ray Gattison, Wilma Perry, Lakeychia Jordan, Rashunda Downey and Maurice Smith; her siblings, Rosa Richardson, Margaret Reid, Daisy Walker (Julius), Napoleon Reid and Carolyn Richardson (Michael); her aunt Carolyn Burrell; and her sister-in-law Naomi Reid. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (950 File St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
