She was predeceased by: her parents, Boss McKinley Lewis and Ethel Parker Lewis; her spouse Sammie L. Torbit Sr.; her children, Donald James Torbit and Deborah Jean Torbit; and her siblings, James McKinley Lewis, Luther Lewis, Bill Lewis, Bertha Horton and Mildred Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl A. Torbit of Winston-Salem, NC., Sammie L. Torbit Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC. and Cassandra L. Torbit of Winston-Salem, NC.; her brother-in-law Willie James Torbit Sr. of Winston-Salem; her nephew John D. Torbit Sr. of Baltimore, MD.; and her niece Sandra Witherspoon of Atlanta, GA.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM.
