Bettie Williams Dye Obituary

Bettie Williams Dye was born on August 13, 1951 to the late Monroe Pemberton and Queen Ester Williams. She was born in Montgomery County, NC. Bettie was a member of Power of God in Christ Ministries where she served under Pastor Renae Miller. Bettie had a love for Christ and would often help serve in the church. If you were hungry, she would feed you. If you didn't have anywhere to go, she would let you stay.

Bettie was an RN and served as a private duty nurse in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She loved her patients and often served as our family's own personal nurse, always caring for those who needed it.

Bettie was preceded in death by her mother, Queen Ester Williams and her father, Monroe Pemberton; aunt, Janie Chambers; uncle, Jessie Williams; three brothers: Robert Pemberton, Dwight Pemberton, Tony Pemberton and one sister, Deana Ruth Lily.

Bettie leaves memories to be cherished by her son, Carlton Keith Roper and daughter, Lakeisha ORoper (Samika ORoper), who reside in Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one brother, James Arthur Williams of Thomasville, North Carolina; three sisters: Ella Pemberton of Albemarle, North Carolina, Emma Pemberton of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Sally Pemberton of Charlotte, North Carolina. If you knew Bettie, you knew she had a soft spot for her grandbabies and spoke of them all the time. She had 11 grandchildren: DayQuan Thompson, Darius Tucker, Kiera Roper, Makayla Roper, Joncena Yeargin, Shareka Odom, Khloe Hasana Pinkney, Laviay Jackson, Nevaeh Butler, Deshayla Banks and Nerayjah Banks; 6 great grandchildren: A'Mari Tucker, Anthony Jamal Little, Jr., Akari Giannie Little, A'Mani Tucker, Skylar Yeargin and Bless ORoper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bettie was a jewel to all those she came in contact with. She was loving, caring, compassionate and honest. This world lost someone special when Bettie transitioned. It's rare that you find someone always trying to make someone's day brighter even during her own illness. Well done Bettie, thy good and faithful servant!

Her life and Legacy will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Power of God in Christ Ministries with visitation at 12:30 P.M. prior to the service. Public viewing will take place prior to funeral services at the church from 11:30 A.M-1:00 P.M.
