Astor Herrell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Astor Herrell (Winston Salem, North Carolina), who passed away on March 21, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Herrell and Charity Herrell; his wife Doris Smith Herrell; and his siblings, ArraLee Herrell Underwood, Virginia Herrell Mize, Landon Herrell and Jim Herrell.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Herrell Hutchison (Lonnie); his grandchildren, Paicha McNeel and Quentin Horne; his great grandchild Paityn McNeel; and his godchildren, Timmorthy Moore and Dr. Marcus Barr. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In 1963 his received the National Science Foundation Fellowship Award from Wayne State University.
