He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Boynton and Edna Richardson Boynton; and his siblings, Horace, Melvin, Herbert and Linda Boynton.
He is survived by: his wife Paulette Miles Boynton; his children, Steven Miles, Al-Malik Miles, Kawan Miles, Kareen Miles and Rickema Miles; and his siblings, Harry Boynton, Ronald Boynton, Glenn Boynton and Marilyn Leach. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
