She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hockett and Ada Pulliam Hockett; her daughter Martha Lydia Brown; and her stepson Thomas Allen Bruton. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Bruton; her daughters, Linda Cope Bartlett of Little River, S. C. and Laurel Ann Williams of Rural Retreat; her brothers, Phillip Hockett and Grady Hockett of Greensboro; and her grandchildren, J. T. Brown, Daryl Brown, Jem Williams and Christina Bruton.
