He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Benton Godwin and Carrie Brewer Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Davis Godwin of Wingate, NC.; his children, Sherry Fonvielle (Wayne) of Durham, NC, Sandra Webb (Ed) of Apex, NC and Kevin Godwin; his grandchildren, Caroline Hipple (Josh), William Fonvielle, Evan Webb and Benjamin Webb; and his great grandchild Georgia Hipple.
