With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorthy Davis Godwin of Wingate, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 10, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Ellis Davis and Arnecie Baker Davis; her husband Lonnie Benton "Junior" Godwin; and her siblings, Peggy Huggins, Claude Davis Jr., Bobby Davis and Lewis Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Fonvielle (Wayne) of Durham, NC, Sandra Webb (Ed) of Apex, NC and Kevin Godwin; her grandchildren, Caroline Hipple (Josh), William Fonvielle, Evan Webb and Benjamin Webb; her great grandchild Georgia Hipple; her siblings, Jerry Davis (Alice) of Wagram and Sarah Huneycutt of Oakboro; and her sisters-in-law, Peggy Davis of Monroe and Frances Davis of Charlotte.
Although flowers are appreciated, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
