He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Watson Gardner Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Ramona Thompson Gardner of Matthews; his siblings, Deborah Patton (Tim) of Monroe, NC, Richard Gardner (Nancy) of Charlotte and David Gardner (Natena) of Monroe; his nieces and nephews, Samuel Gardner, John Patton (Marsha), Robyn Gardner Oakley (Logan) and Julie Patton; and his goddaughter Susie Keeter.
