She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Lowery and Mildred Lowery. She is survived by: her husband Dr. Jerry Thomas; her children, Allison Thomas of Monroe, NC and Trent Thomas (Kathryn) of Clover, SC; her grandchildren, Judah, Anna and Lucy; and her siblings, Cindy James (Roger), Nancy Lowery of Wingate, NC and Tommy Lowery (Patti) of Seneca, SC..

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Wingate Baptist Church, 109 East Elm Street, Wingate, NC 28174, to cancer research, or to the Union County Chapter of Retired Teachers.
