He is survived by: his wife Joanne Crisp Whitaker; his sons, Martin Phelps (Kelly) of Windsor and Jamie Phelps of Windsor; his siblings, Gene Whitaker (Linda) of Robersonville, Faye Williams (John) of Robersonville, Juanita Bullock of Robersonville, Vivian Stalls (Phillip) of Everetts, Brenda Powell (Bill) of Robersonville, Dale Manning (Keith) of Williamston and Ruth Jenkins (Bill) of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Jonathan Dail (Stacey), Taylor Dail, Riley Phelps, Sydney Phelps, Paisley Phelps and Aubrey Phelps; and his great grandchildren, Liam and Ainsley Dail.
