He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Yates, and Lillie Mae Lewis Yates, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Ernestine Yates of Windsor, NC; and his children, Richard Yates, Jr. (Valerie) of Lawrenceville, GA, Isaac Yates and Aretha Yates of Aulander, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, (6) great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
