She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Judson and Cecelia Bell Sawyer; and her husband Lester Murray Ward. She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Charles Ward Pace (Jason) of Nashville and Elizabeth "Betsy" Ward Price (Ed) of Williamston; her brother Dr. Charles Judson Sawyer, III of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Katie Pawlikowski, Hunter Pawlikowski and Lofton Holloman; and her nieces and nephews, Jud Sawyer, Kathy Mann and Jay Ward.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gift may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 302 South Queen Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
