She was predeceased by: her parents, Colon Johnson and Myrtle Wicker Johnson; her husband W. F. Smith, Jr.; her children, Myrtle Rose Smith Haege, Debra Elaine Smith Batten and W. F. Smith, III; her grandson Marc Haege; her great grandchild Christian Winters; and her siblings, Joel Max Johnson and Margaret Carringer.
She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Smith Winters (Denis) of Fuquay-Varina; her sister Mary Autry; and also Rev. Joe Cockrell.
The family would like to thank the staff, particularly the aides and nurses, who looked after Julia during her stay at Windsor Point, especially as she battled COVID-19 these last three weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church.
