He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Daniel and Beulah Biggs Leggett; his wife Mary Ann Tripp Leggett; his children, Joseph Leggett, Jr., Kathleen Revels, Mary Jo Wynn and Josephine Leggett; and his siblings, King, Leroy, Mack Henry, John D., William Leggett', Annie Mae Starnes, Mary Rogers, Viola Sanderlin and Rachel Leggett.
He is survived by: his children, Mack Saunders Leggett (Susan) of Greenville, James Irving Leggett of Edenton, Patricia Bullock (Joe) of Bear Grass and Audrey Pearl Hodges Taylor of Bear Grass; and his siblings, Jimmy Walker Leggett of Bear Grass, Ernest T. Leggett of Bear Grass and Betty Ray Starnes of Charlotte. He is also survived by grandchildren, seventeen; great grandchildren, thirteen; great great grandchildren.
