He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Thomas and Bessie Miller Hoggard; his son Joey Hoggard; and his siblings, Audrey Todd, Lou Evie Castello and Stanley Hoggard.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Mae Jernigan Hoggard; his children, Patricia Hoggard Collis (Jerry) of Merry Hill and Paul Hoggard (Cathy) of Edenton; his siblings, Basil, Larry Hoggard of Windsor and Verlie H. Farless of Colerain; and his grandchildren, Brian Collis, Luke Hoggard, Landen Hoggard and Errol.
