He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Blount Cherry and Ethel Redmon Cherry. He is survived by: his wife Della Hilliard Cherry; his daughters, Mary Kay Cherry Baynard (Paul) and Susan Cherry Foster (J. J.); and his grandchildren, Ann Cherry Baynard, Joseph Rudd Baynard, David Blount Baynard, John Zachary Foster, Owen Samuel Foster and Peter Matthew Foster.
