He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Askew and Pearlina Askew of Windsor; his wife Judy Mizelle Askew; and his siblings, Josephine and Signal Askew.
He is survived by: his daughters, Alisa Perry (Scott) of Hertford and Renee Hoggard of Windsor; his siblings, Ruth Whitaker, Linda Askew, Merilyn Evans (Donnie), Velma Hughes and Herbert Askew (Peggy); his brother-in-law Jim Mizelle (Peggy); and his grandsons, Joseph Hoggard, Joshua Hoggard (Texas), Jackson Perry (Bailey) of Hertford and Jarrett Hoggard of Windsor. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Walker Funeral Home (236 US-17 BYP, Windsor, NC 27983). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ross Baptist Church (1020 Bull Hill Rd, Windsor, NC 27983).
