He is survived by: his grandson Edenton Steamers Baseball; his son John "David" LaFon, Jr. (Anita) of Edenton, NC; his grandson Hunter LaFon; and his daughter Lisa Belangia (Calvin) of Harrellsville, NC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
