He is survived by: his children, Sue Brabble (Floyd) of Ahoskie, Ann Rawls (James) of Williamston and Doug Lewis (Kay) of Washington; his sister Polly Phelps of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Dougie Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Dustin Whitehead and Allen Rawls; and his great grandchildren, Anthony Flannelly and Aniyah Winborne.
