He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward Thomas, Sr. and Abbie Lawrence Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Ann Harris Thomas; his children, Michelle Thomas Meldick of Windsor and Shelton Thomas (Charissa) of Edenton; his sisters, Wilma Thomas of Windsor and Louise White; his grandchildren, Chelsea Pridgen (James), Miranda Meldick and James Andrews; and his great grandchild Rosalind Andrews.
