With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Phelps (Windsor, North Carolina), born in Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2020 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Moye Winfield and Fannie Mae Stell Spruill; her husbands, Henry L. Freeman and Julian Phelps; and her sister Frances S. Chandler.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Freeman Joyner of Windsor, Betty Freeman Martin (Thomas) of Four Oaks, Marcia Freeman Price of Merry Hill and Henry L. Freeman, Jr. of Plymouth; and her grandchildren, Jamie Alexander Harmon, Rene Freeman, Summer Freeman, Beth Winstead, Sharon Meredith, Donald Mozingo, Matthew Price, Jennifer Dean and Christin Dean. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren one niece and one nephew.
