She was predeceased by: her sisters, Nellie Gray Howard and Alma Jane Howard; and her parents, Curtis Howard Sr. and Sallie Matthews Howard. She is survived by: her husband John LaFon; her son David LaFon (Anita) of Edenton, NC; her grandson Hunter LaFon; her daughter Lisa Belangia (Calvin) of Harrellsville, NC.; and her siblings, Curtis Howard Jr. (Louise) of Murfreesboro, NC. and June Payne (Otis) of Ahoskie, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, Askewville Baptist Church, and in keeping with Covid-19 restrictions, masks are required at all times.
