We bid farewell to Worley Brantley of Wilson, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 8, 2024 at the age of 95. Worley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Lamm Brantley; his daughter Wendy Lynn Brantley; his grandchildren, Becky Lynn Brantley and Phillip Jonathan Flowers; his parents, Lawrence Brantley and Belzie Ann Brantley; his stepmother Annie Lee Thorne Brantley; and his siblings, Sissy Deans, Herbert, Earlie, Berlie, Herley, Irvan and Sonnie Brantley.
He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Brantley (Dianne) of Wilson, Danny Brantley of Lucama and David Brantley; his daughter-in-law Margaret West of Nashville; his daughters, Debbie Joyner (Jerry) of Lucama, Katie Ann Brantley of Black Creek and Joyce Hawley (Tony) of Rock Ridge; his grandchildren, Kevin Brantley, Daniel Brantley, Tammy Thompson, Beverly Price, Jason Joyner and David Flowers; his sisters, Shirley Wood of Lizard Lick and Shelby Lucas of Wilson; and his pets, Daisey Mae Hawley, Kasey Ann Brantley and Tom. He is also survived by twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Joyner's Funeral Home (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Brantley Family Cemetery. A reception was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Joyner's Funeral Home (4100 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Wilson, NC 27896).
