He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly Denton and Erma Oriente Denton; and his siblings, Sharon D. Whitley (David), Eloise D. Murray and Robert Denton.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Morris Denton; his daughter Candace Casey (Jared); his grandchildren, Benny and Maddy of Wilson; his sisters, Eleanore D. Jones (Donald "Don" Jones) of Wilson and Debbie D. Winecoff (Craig) of Graham; and his brother-in-law Allen Murray of Middlesex. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
