He was predeceased by: his wife Freddie Harrell Hilliard; his parents, Walter Hilliard and Thelma Gupton Hilliard; and his grandson Walter Jackson Hilliard (S. Navy). He is survived by: his children, Angela Ferrell of Wilson, Rodney Hilliard of Wilson and Eddie Hilliard (Kathryn) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Madeline, Lydia, Samuel Hilliard, Jazmine and April Starr Ferrell; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Bentley and Zaydie Ferrell.
