It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vernon Lee Whitley Sr. (Wilson, North Carolina), who passed away on March 21, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Johnnie Mae Sauls Whitley; his daughter Tweenetta; and his parents, Eddie Whitley and Annie Lee Whitley. He is survived by: his children, Vernon Lee Whitley, Jr. of Greensboro, NC and Lisa Squire of Brooklyn, NY; and his sisters, Mamie Devon Sutton (Jimmie) of Wilson, NC and Delmarie Whitley of New York City. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
