He was predeceased by: his parents, Leaston Winstead and Mae Mercer Winstead; and his siblings, Herman Winstead, Horace Winstead and Rebecca "Beck" Winstead.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Speight Winstead; his children, Chad Winstead (Beth) of Greenville, Ben Winstead of Rocky Mount, Monte Winstead (Sheila) of Morehead City, Bryan Winstead and Cathy Hedrick (Chris) of Sims; his grandchildren, Matthew Winstead of Red Oak, Katie Hedrick of Sims and Hunter Hedrick of Sims; his siblings, Mitch Winstead (Janet) of Elm City, Derwood Winstead (Edna) of Wilson, Patsy Stone (Glenn) of Wilson and Bonnie White of Knightdale; and his pets, Callie, Geo and Christian.
