He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thomas Barnes and Minnie Earle Morris Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Carol Webb Barnes; his daughters, Shannon Wright (Paul Cranford) of Black Creek and Kendall Parks (Lee) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Van, Amelia, Grady and Lauren Ashley; and his sister Ann Lamm (Fred) of Greenville, SC..
